Jesús Armenteros

Jesús Armenteros is a graduate of the Interamerican University of Panama, where he studied Banking and Finance. He is an authorized public translator certified by the Ministry of Education of Panama since 2011. He received the certification of suitability as an announcer by the National Authority of Public Services (ASEP) in 2009.

Jesús Armenteros is a graduate from Universidad Interamericana of Panama, where he studied Banking and Finance. He is an authorized public translator certified by the Ministry of Education of Panama since 2011. He received the certification of suitability as an announcer by the National Authority of Public Services (ASEP) in 2009. In 2002, he started working as a simultaneous interpreter at conferences, offering professional interpretation services nationwide. He currently serves as vice president of the Panamanian Association of Translators and Interpreters (APTI).

Remote Simultaneous Interpretation, what it is, what it is not, and how does it work 

The concept of simultaneous interpretation has been in existence for more than 60 years. With the advent of the internet and voice over IP technology it was a matter of time before simultaneous interpretation and the internet crossed paths. What are the challenges? This presentation explores the concepts, challenges and some misunderstandings about what remote simultaneous interpretation is and isn’t.
